New 40 GHz Photodetector
At the upcoming ECOC 2022 exhibition in Basel, Albis Optoelectronics will present its new 40 GHz photodetector PQS40A-L, a small sized packaged device, designed for the detection of RF-modulated optical signals.
Key strengths of this photodetector are its high responsivity of 0.8 A/W combined with a bandwidth of 40 GHz and high linearity up to an average photocurrent of 10 mA. The optical input is supplied through a single-mode fibre pigtail with an angled polished, low-reflection FC/APC connector. The bias voltage is supplied by DC pins through the internal bias-tee. The RF K-connector output is DC coupled and matched to 50 Ω with a high electrical return loss of at least 5 dB up to 35 GHz.
The compact, rugged and hermetic package makes the detector ideal for installation in systems with limited space, operated under severe environmental conditions.
