With the RF over fiber (RfoF) technology a radio wave signal is converted into light with RF modulated intensity and transmitted over a fiber optic link. The optical receiver converts the signal back into an analog electrical signal. Fiber optic links offer much lower losses compared to traditional copper coax cables and enable transmission over very long distances. Applications range from the transmission of mobile radio signals (3G, 4G, 5G and WiFi) and the transmission of cable television signals (CATV) to the transmission of L-Band RF signals for satellite communications.
Albis offers the best-performing packaged photodiodes on the market, with compact, rugged and hermetic modules that allow easy integration in systems operated under severe environmental conditions.
