Compact Side Illuminated Monitor Photodiode
PD00Q1 is a side illuminated InGaAs/InP monitor photodiode chip that relies on 20 years of experience that Albis has obtained since bringing the first ever Side Illuminated Monitor Photodiode to a mass-market.
The incoming laser light is refracted by the curved side facet onto the active area. Thanks to this unique side facet, a bulky and expensive wrap-around carrier is not required. The photodiode is manufactured with a large wire bondable anode pad on the topside along with a solderable cathode pad on the chip backside.
This side illuminated photodiode structure is optimized for monitoring edge emitting DFB and FP lasers used in datacom and telecom applications. It comes with a wide detection window in an ultra-compact form factor. This device offers a low dark current and an excellent responsivity in the wavelength range from 980 nm to 1620 nm.
