Extended 56 Gbaud PAM-4 Photodiode Solutions

At the upcoming ECOC in Rome, Albis will present its new PD40X1 photodiode chip with integrated backside lens targeting 56 Gbaud PAM-4 and 100G Single Lambda applications. The small sized chip offers excellent responsivity of 0.8 A/W at 1310nm. The integrated backside lens focuses the incoming light beam on the top side active area. This increases the effective detecting diameter resulting in easy optical coupling.

The chip can also be supplied as a flip-chip mounted device on customized 2D or 3D (wrap-around) carriers. For example, PS40X4 consists of an array of four, flip-chip soldered 56 Gbaud lensed photodiodes that can be used for 400GBASE-DR4 and 400G-FR4 applications.
